LANNETT COMPANY RECEIVES FDA APPROVALS FOR DOXYCYCLINE TABLETS, 75 MG AND 150 MG
Philadelphia, PA – August 1, 2008 – Lannett Company, Inc. (AMEX: LCI), a manufacturer of generic pharmaceuticals, today announced that it has received approvals from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of its Abbreviated New Drug Applications (ANDAs) for Doxycycline Tablets, 75 mg and 150 mg, the generic equivalent of Adoxa® marketed by Par Pharmaceutical, Inc. According to Wolters Kluwer, combined sales of generic Doxycycline Tablets, 75 mg and 150 mg, were $25.8 million in 2007.
“The approvals of Doxycycline Tablets, 75 mg and 150 mg, round out our doxycycline portfolio, supplementing our 50 mg and 100 mg dosages,” said Arthur Bedrosian, president and chief executive officer of Lannett. “We will commence marketing our Doxycycline Tablets, 75 mg and 150 mg, immediately.”
Doxycycline is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections, such as urinary tract infections, acne, gonorrhea, chlamydia, periodontitis and others.
